Mindfulness Retreats for Veterans
“Healing is the process, often lifelong, of restoring and reawakening the capacities for safety, belonging, and dignity on the other side of trauma.”

Retreat Applications
Specific location details will be provided to applicants.
We get hundreds of applications, so spots are never guaranteed.
Please complete the application as fully as possible so we can assess if this program is right for you. If you are eligible for the next step, we will contact you for an interview TWO MONTHS before the retreat.
May 15 - 18, 2025: Virginia
Room and board plus all activities will be covered by the organization, but the Veteran is required to arrange and pay for their own transportation to the event location. All meals will be catered, rooms will be double occupancy (expect to have a roommate) and pets are not allowed by the retreat location, but service dogs are welcome - after being approved during the interview process.
Apply below for consideration. Application does not guarantee you a spot - we have many more applicants than available places on retreat. If you are chosen to participate, we will reach out to you two months before the retreat. If you need to know before that for scheduling purposes, please email and let us know!
If you don’t hear from us two months before the retreat — that means we don’t have a spot for you, but you are on the waitlist. We will reach out if a spot opens up, and feel free to apply for another retreat!

A few things to know:
No experience in yoga, writing, or meditation is required - beginners very welcome!
Attendees must be Veterans or active duty service members of the armed forces and have no record of violent criminal behavior. We accept between 10 -15 participants per retreat.
Our donors fully fund retreats. Veterans pay nothing to attend, although attendees must coordinate and pay for their own transportation to the retreat location.
Retreats are four days, three nights, and locations for retreats vary. Three meals a day will be provided along with accommodation, which may be single or double occupancy.
Attendees must provide proof of military service (copy of DD 214)
No alcohol, firearms, or THC are permitted on retreat.
Service dogs are welcome, but must be cleared in advance of the retreat. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed at our retreat locations. Service dogs must have already completed their training, and must behave according to ADA requirements. If this is not the case, you and your dog will be required to leave the retreat immediately.
If diversity makes you uncomfortable, this is not the place for you. Retreats are co-ed. We welcome all service members from any era. We are inclusive and embrace diversity. We welcome LGBTQ+ service members. We welcome people of all genders, races, religions, and backgrounds.
If you are chosen for a retreat, a deposit of $100 will be required to hold your space. This deposit will be fully refunded immediately after the retreat. No-shows or cancellations within 45 days of the retreat will forfeit this deposit. (Deposit can be waived according to means.)
